Up Close Bar Food

You may have seen our previous posts about Up Close foods. These are just more examples of the fun details we end up seeing when photographing food on set here in the studio. If you’re curious about our equipment, we typically shoot with medium format PhaseOne digital backs (P40+ and IQ150). They give us 40 to 50 megapixels of what I like to call “happy pixels”. Honestly, it’s kinda overkill for an image that’s gonna end up being a 4-inch square on a menu, but there are times when that small image needs to be used on a billboard or large point-of-sale poster. So, there you have my justification for having such big (high resolution) files. I also have justifications for eating chocolate, but I’ll save that post for another day. – Kyle
