Nashville Food Trucks Part 4

As you may have seen in earlier posts, we’ve been photographing food trucks, their owners and their offerings for the Nashville Food Truck Association. Below are more food trucks!

On a related note, in Nashville at the start of fall (currently happening now) we have what’s called “Live On The Green” every Thursday which features live outdoor music downtown. If you are looking to try food trucks in Nashville then Live On The Green is where you need to be. Food trucks are everywhere. They line an entire block. Whatever you are craving you can find. I ended up having a cuban sandwich from Steaming Goat while I stood in perfect 70 degree weather watching Cold War Kids play last week. Pretty good Thursday night in my opinion.

Crème Brûlée in Motion

In an effort to show some of our capabilities here we did this short little piece on Crème Brûlée for no other reason than we have a leaning toward creamy desserts. Oh, and the occasional excuse to work with an open flame. I hope you enjoy the video. – Kyle

Ruby Tuesday Lunch Menu

The food photography we do for clients ends up in many different places. It could be a billboard, a Facebook feed or the expected menu. Here’s a look at images we produced for Ruby Tuesday that ended up on their lunch menu. The super nice food styling you see is by Nashville based food stylists Teresa Blackburn and Whitney Kemp. – Kyle

Up Close Pies

These “up close” posts are something that I get to experience every shoot day at Dreier & Company. As Kyle’s digital technician I am constantly zooming wwwaaayyy into photos as we capture them to make sure that we are getting sharp focus exactly where we want it. I am always amazed at the amount of detail our cameras can capture.

Today I’m sharing some of the awesome things I get to see when we shoot pies. Pies are a fun subject to see up close, because they have tons of texture on the crust and in the filling. They also have wonderful color contrast between the crust and their (usually) colorful rich insides.

I don’t have much of a sweet tooth, but after looking at some of Kyle’s pie photographs I have a hard time passing up dessert at my next meal.

Nashville Food Trucks Part 3

Well, we’re still working out way through all the food trucks in the Nashville Food Truck Association. (We’re photographing our way…but also get to eat our way when time allows.) We enjoy getting to meet each owner and spend a very quick ten minutes in each truck shooting a couple of their core menu items. Here are three more trucks. – Kyle

Fresh BBQ Tacos

Having grown up in Texas I think BBQ must just be in my blood. There’s also the idea of Mexican food that is near and dear to my heart (and stomach). As you might imagine, BBQ Tacos are a favorable combination with me. When we do test work here at the studio it’s often just an excuse to work with food we like. I guess that’s just one of the advantages of being a food photographer. Thanks to Nashville based food stylist Hannah Messinger for her styling talents. Thanks also goes out to Shanna Shrum for prop styling. And, of course thanks to the rest of our Dreier & Company team (Erica and John) for putting up with me on a daily basis. – Kyle
